PLEXOS Solutions Announces WECC Term Daily Forecasting Service
January 4, 2010
Sacramento, California
PLEXOS Solutions recently announced a new web-based forecasting service that will provide a significant advantage to WECC term traders, utility planners, and generator schedulers. This service will compliment PLEXOS Solutions existing day-ahead CAISO LMP forecast.
The WECC Term forecast (www.weccterm.com) will be delivered by 6 am every workday for the current quarter, plus the next 3 full quarters. A comprehensive fundamental simulation will be preformed on an hourly basis with the latest weather conditions, loads, gas prices, hydro conditions, and transmission / generation outage data. Forecast hubs include Mid-C, NP15, SP15, ZP26, Palo Verde, Mead, Four Corners, Rocky Mountains, and Utah. The results will be presented for on- and off-peak periods aggregated daily (for the next month) and monthly and quarterly (for the remainder of the forecast).
“The market place is in need of a forecast provider with in-depth knowledge of WECC fundamentals and key market drivers. I'm elated to be part of the team that will work with market participants in fulfilling this role.” according to Ryan Hoppe, Director of the new weccterm.com service.
