PLEXOS Solutions Announces CAISO Day-Ahead LMP Forecasting Service

PLEXOS Solutions recently announced a new web-based forecasting service that will provide a significant advantage to day-ahead schedulers and traders in the new CAISO MRTU LMP market slated to start in less than six weeks on April 1, 2009.
This forecast will be based on the latest CAISO CRR Full Network Model coupled with generation information compiled, reviewed, and tested by Wade Schauer, a well-known market-simulation data expert. The input data will be updated nightly from real-time sources for the latest load, hydro, outage, and transmission data. The forecast will be available at 4 am each workday morning for use in developing the day-ahead schedule and trades. Clients will be able to select/display forecast LMP component results for a subset of the approximately 780 MRTU Source/Sink "APNodes" through a powerful web-based interface. In addition, forecast assumptions for loads, external schedules, hydro generation, and natural gas price will be provided. The website will also be a convenient place to view/analyze the historical actual MRTU results for the Day-Ahead Market.
