PLEXOS Solutions LLC conducts first North American User Meeting

SACRAMENTO, California – PLEXOS Solutions LLC completed its first North American user meeting at the offices of the Roseville Electric Department. In a sign of maturing product acceptance and increased customer support, the company conducts annual user meetings to interact with customers.
The meeting was well attended by customers in the western US. Customer presentations included use of PLEXOS to forecast LMPs, competitive benchmarking to assess market efficiency, and evaluation of combined cycle generation options.
Eric Toolson, CEO of PLEXOS Solutions conducted the meeting and also provided a detailed overview of the use of PLEXOS. DR. Tao Guo, VP of Technical Services, demonstrated PLEXOS for a variety of business uses. Dr. Glen Drayton participated in the conference via video conferencing and web presentation. Customers provided feedback on product features and usage.
Dr. Drayton discussed the significant improvements that have gone into the current V 4.8 release. Key among these features are greatly expanded LMP modeling and significant refinements in the use of Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) to solve the unit commitment problem.
Dr. Drayton also reviewed some of the key features coming up. The next major releases will include an MIP based capacity expansion module and numerous interface improvements designed to keep PLEXOS an leader in “ease-of-use”.
