Staff or Senior Consultant - Citrus Heights, CA
This position will directly report to the Vice President, Technical Services, and will develop data model/database and nodal price forecasts, perform short- and long-term resource portfolio optimization and valuation, and conduct detailed wind integration analyses. The salary range is commensurate with experience.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop and document generation, transmission, and system data
- Set up and utilize PLEXOS simulation model for various advanced analytical tasks
- Design and process PLEXOS output data for reports, tables, and graphs to be provided to clients or stakeholders
- Document input assumptions, analytical process, output results, and conclusions if applicable
- Frequent interaction with clients at technical and project level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Power Systems Engineering
- Graduated in top 25 percent of class
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience with:
- Advanced chronological simulation software
- DC-OPF transmission modeling
- Locational Marginal Price (LMP) energy forecasting in US markets
- Optimal unit commitment / dispatch algorithms
- Basic VBA programming
